hello. my name is August and I make art.
My visual art oscillates between hyper-digital procedural work with glitch aesthetics and naive art-brut style drawings and paintings. My works have graced the covers of books, album covers, t-shirts, and music videos. Influences include minimalism, constructivism, glitch art, my professional archaeology/art history experience, and artists such as Paul Klee, Derek Riggs, Kay Sage, Yves Klein, and Lakota Meyer. I am self-taught and motivated by the adventure of manifesting new and interesting visuals.
None of my current art involves ai technology. My digital art is what I like to call “brute force digital manipulation.”
